Ahead of Apple’s impending event and the launch of new iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks for this year, excitement is growing as the year draws to a close. A new update regarding the impending iPad Pro has also surfaced, continuing the legacy of leaks and rumours. Continue reading to learn more about it.
iPad Pro OLED Coming In 2024
The Elec, a Korean news source, reported that Apple intended to release 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro versions with OLED panels in the first quarter of 2024. It has been reported that the tech giant intends to use a tiny hybrid OLED display in its forthcoming iPad Pro models that blends stiff and flexible components. The total footprint will be thinner and smaller thanks to this design. Ross Young, a display analyst, had stated that the panels would be expensive to produce.
The potential for iPad Pros may significantly grow if this report turns out to be true. First of all, using an OLED display will result in enhanced colour accuracy, increased dynamic refresh rate adjustment, increased brightness, and reduced battery usage. To refresh your recollection, Apple already employs an OLED display in its iPhones and smartwatches (excluding iPhone SE 2).
However, this decision appears to come with the consequence of OLED-based MacBooks being put on hold till 2027. There are chances that we might not see an OLED MacBook before 2027. Apple is prioritizing the advancement of OLED-based iPad Pros, delaying display upgrades for MacBooks. While this news may disappoint some, it highlights Apple’s commitment to introducing cutting-edge display technology to its customers.
