As a “privacy and security-focused browser” that was introduced in 2008, DuckDuckGo made the decision to compete with Google Search. It gained widespread acclaim over time thanks to its wealth of user-friendly features and effective tracking for Android and iOS. The browser only recently made the decision to enter the desktop market with the DuckDuckGo browser for Mac. It’s finally time for Windows users to use DuckDuckGo. To learn more, continue reading below.
DuckDuckGo for Windows Finally Launched
The public beta version of the DuckDuckGo browser for Windows is now available. Downloading is possible for everyone. You can access the privacy-focused browser without a special invitation, referral link, or waitlist of any kind. Simply go to the DuckDuckGo for Windows page, download the application, and install it to enjoy all of DuckDuckGo’s benefits. The Windows version also adheres to the fundamental principles of “user data security and privacy.”
The two most important privacy and security features among the plethora are Smart Encryption and Tracking Blocking. Basically, Smart Encryption implies that everytime you visit a website, DuckDuckGo will continuously crawl it to verify if it complies with the “HTTPS” specifications using a set of resource lists that it has created. This significantly lowers data leakage, backdoor access, and Wi-Fi eavesdropping. DuckDuckGo’s Third-Party Tracker Loading Protection, which enables the blocking of first-party and third-party trackers while you are on any page, is available with Tracker Blocking.
The browser also includes a built-in password manager, a cookie pop-up manager to automatically hide the “I Accept” prompt each time you visit a page, a Fire burn button to quickly delete any existing data and tabs, and much more in addition to these two major features.
Two additional features of the browser that may be of interest to you are listed below. The first is an email protection tool that enables you to generate a Unique ID with the @duck.com extension in order to conceal your email address. The Duck Player, a built-in video player, is the alternative that enables you to stream YouTube videos without obtrusive adverts or trackers.
