Gigabyte is releasing a new Radeon RX 7900 GRE graphics card based on AMD’s RDNA 3 graphics architecture. As you may know, GRE refers to Golden Rabbit Edition. This special lineup of GPUs was initially launched in China.
Though the GPU has not been listed anywhere by the company, pictures have surfaced, suggesting that Gigabyte is getting ready to release the RX 7900 GRE graphics card soon. As of right now, no details regarding this Gigabyte variant—not even the clock speed or pricing and availability—are known. This information was reported by Videocardz.
Radeon RX7900 GRE Quick Specification
- 16GB GDDR6 VRAM
- 260W Total Board Power (TBP)
- 80 compute units, 80 ray-tracing accelerators, and 160 AI accelerators
- AV1 codec Support
In terms of design, we can see that it is rather comparable to Gigabyte’s RX 7800 XT Gaming edition. Regretfully, Gigabyte does not appear to enjoy AMD GPUs as much as Nvidia GPUs; the firm only offers a small range of AMD-based GPU designs.
The RX 7900 GRE has seen wider availability, with listings in Europe as well. Moreover, this graphics card can be acquired in the US but is paired with a fully pre-built PC from CyberPower. This gaming PC by CyberPower is listed on BestBuy for $1749.
The AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT is the newest GPU that closely matches the performance of the GRE edition. It is available and priced similarly to the more expensive RX 7900 XT, which offers better gaming performance than the RX 7900 GRE. However, if you find a good deal on the RX 7900 GRE in your area, you might want to give it some thought!
